Photos from West Coast (Sunday) and Wanaka (Wednesday)

Here are some photos from last Sunday on our trip down the West Coast.

On our trip down the west coast we just happened to stumble upon this toilet structure. It's a mailbox.  The top toilet that my father is leaning on is where you open up and put the mail in. Funny, isn't it? We have actually seen a lot of toilets on this trip.

A random panoramic from the trip. Not sure where exactly it was but somewhere along the road across from Nelson to Westport.

Again here, not sure where exactly this was but somewhere between Nelson to Westport.

Looking over Tauranga Bay just south of Westport. This was the view from the patio of the restaurant we were eating at, The Bay House. You can't tell here but there were a few people out there surfing.

My dad at The Bay House.

My mother.

Looking out over the Tasman Sea near Punakaiki Pancake Rocks.

Pancake rocks up close.

From far away. They are really quite amazing. They rise probably 30 meters out of the sea and look like this for quite a while.

The Surge.

Seaweed growing on the rocks. When the tide goes out the seaweed is exposed.

A pathway straight through the rocks.

More seaweed.

My mother looking down somewhere.

Beautiful, isn't it?

My parents.

And again.

A bridge we encountered on our way down the west coast. Not only was it a one lane bridge but also where the trains ran. Haven't ever seen any one of the these before!

My mother overlooking the handicapped ramp down to our car at the Hotel Hari Hari.

And here are few from Wednesday in Wanaka.

This is actually from Tuesday, snuck in here somehow. We got real fruit ice cream which is essentially like a fruit soft serve that they make especially for you. They mix the ice cream and the frozen fruit to your liking in the quantity you want. It's awesome!

A photo of an old truck at the Mt. Difficulty winery.

I believe this is also Tuesday night, the view from our B&B.

Our breakfast spread.

And the rest of it.

Photos of the mountains from our hike of Mt. Iron on Wednesday morning. The photo is not of Mt. Iron. We were standing on Mt. Iron (which my MN standards could be a mountain but not by NZ standards) looking at this snow capped beauty.

And a close up.

My father at the top of My. Iron.

Panoramic from the top of Mt. Iron.
