On Sunday we hiked Whiteside Mountain in Cashiers, NC. It was technically closed because of the government shutdown that has closed national parks, but we hiked it anyways. This was all well and good until I had to use the restroom at the end of the hike, which was also closed. I did make it to a local grocery store but everyone I was with made sure to make the car ride to the grocery store as miserable as possible - bumpy, full of water references, etc.
